Sept 01
- Pays de la Sagouine, Bouctouche, NB
We had a nice turnout for this, out last scheduled Wednesday evening paddle
of the season. We paddled from the Little Buctouche River into the
Buctouche River, around the Acadian attraction and home. A distance of
about 10k (in an unseasonable temperature of about 30ºC). We then retired
to Kilby's house overlooking the Little Buctouche River for a club sponsored
BBQ.
Sept 12 - Circumnavigate Cocagne Island
One item in the forecast changed, heavily overcast, which made the NE wind that
much colder.
It was an interesting paddle as the NE winds were only about 15kph, but they
were moving a lot of water, and the waves on the windward side of the island
were chest-high for most of the first half of the paddle.
We had 9 hardy paddlers turn out for this 12.4km paddle - no incidents, but a
number of close calls reported.
Sept 18 - Bourgeois / Caissie Cape
We had 11 out for this relaxing 13.1km paddle.
Sept 26 - Shediac River
While the scheduled paddle was for Shediac Island, the cool NE winds were coming
in at about 20kph, so we decided to enjoy the relative calm of the Shediac
River. We had 7 out for this 14.2km paddle.
