June 1 - Shediac
Island
We had 7 turn out for this paddle. The weather was not looking great,
and the winds were blowing 20kph from the south-east. We had planned on
going around the island, but would have had roughly 6km with the winds and waves
broadside. The revised plan had us paddling on the leeward side of the
island for the most part, with a total of 10.2km. The sun came out making it
really nice for a while. The run back to the put-in point was a little
rough with the winds changing to a more northerly component.
June 05 - Robichaud Village Wharf
Once again we had 7 out for this 7.67km paddle. Not the most exciting
paddle, but it's great to get out of the water.
June 09 - Alma, NB towards Waterside
Well, we were 11 short of being a dozen, but I needed to paddle so I went
anyway. All the rain that Andrea left on us was falling in rivulets and
waterfalls down the cliffside counting in the dozens.
June 15 - Cocagne Island
We had 10 turn out for this 12.3km paddle, in spite of the dire warnings of
Environment Canada.
June 23 - Alma, NB towards Waterside
We had 6 turn out for the 14.6km paddle this time. There were periods
of time where we had to work, into the wind and waves, but a nice workout by
all. Fog was rolling in and out all day. I got a new Olympus TG-2 camera, and was playing with the different
functions.
